Java Moss is a deep green, tiny leaved aquatic jungle.
It does well regardless of PH, hardness, temperature, low light or high nitrate levels.
If not frequently pruned, it can take over a tank and leave no room for your fish.
I started keeping java moss for my livebearers, It provided a place for the
fry to hide from larger fish which might eat them. It is also a good plant for
the Betta Spawn tank, providing a hiding place for any fish that is being
chased. Java moss is also an excellent plant for the betta fry tank.
It supports colonies of microorganisms on which the fry feed,
while absorbing toxins (nitrate) produced by the growing fish and their wastes.
